David Burton has joined FUJIFILM Sericol as wide format business development director for Europe. Burton, formerly managing director of B&P Lightbrigade Group, brings a successful background in building a profitable digital reseller business spanning hardware, media, workflow and software.

The move comes as part of Sericol’s plans to roll out direct sales of Euromedia brand hardware, consumables and media in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. The company acquired the Euromedia brand in 2007, when it bought Cologne-based distributor, Colormy AG.

According to Burton: “The wide format display industry is consolidating fast into the hands of a few big manufacturers. I chose FUJIFILM Sericol because it has the best wide format portfolio now, the clearest vision for the future and a sound strategy to achieve it.”

Burton’s new role is to spearhead Sericol’s development from consumables and hardware sales into a full service supplier to the wide format industry in Europe. Key to the success of the concept, pioneered by Colormy in Germany, has been the introduction of an extensive programme of dealer support covering technical, sales and marketing and management issues.

According to Jerry Avis, FUJIFILM Sericol’s Chief Commercial Officer, Europe: “David’s appointment underlines the importance we place on offering a full service and support to wide format customers.
If we are to do well, so must our customers.”
