The quality of a colour formulation is the key to an effective Colour Management System.
The FUJIFILM Sericol approach to colour formulation is unique in its breadth and quality. The process used to develop the formula database for the PANTONE®*
Matching System involves 5 steps for each colour.

1. Colour Prediction

A state of the art Gretag Macbeth
spectrophotometer is used to predict the
most accurate and least metameric colour
match to each shade.

2. Proofing

The predicted formula is mixed and proofed
on industry standard production equipment.

3. Adjustment

After checking, each colour is manually adjusted by skilled colour matchers to achieve the optimum colour.

4. Verification

Each colour is then checked again by another
colour matcher and verified. Colours are then
copied into the PANTONE®* databases.

5. Quality Assurance

Reproducible formulas require extremely tight
quality procedures for the control of base
colours. Verification of every batch is carried
out using sophisticated computer controlled colour measurement.
